College Football Playoff Pick’em Pools

Keep your group picking through the title game.

Run a pool across the College Football Playoff’s 11 games. Members pick each round’s actual matchups as they become known, choosing winners or playing against the spread. Everyone stays in through the championship, and the highest point total wins.

Pick each round’s actual matchups, straight-up or against the spread. Use equal points, weight later rounds, or let members assign confidence points to their picks.

$1 per entry. Nothing upfront.

Set up your CFP pick’em pool

Choose how much each pick is worth.

Use equal points for a simple pick’em, make later rounds worth more, or let members put their own confidence points on each game.

One point per correct pick.

Every game counts equally, from the four first-round games to the championship. Picking seven winners earns seven points, whichever rounds they came from.

Give later rounds more weight.

Set a value for each round. For example, award 1 point in the first round and quarterfinals, 2 in the semifinals, and 4 in the championship. Members keep making new picks as the field narrows.

Let members assign confidence points.

Give each entry unique values to put on its picks. Reset values for each round, or use one 1-through-11 bank for the whole playoff. With one bank, members save unused values for games still to come.

Your pool’s rules

Pick’em rules for your CFP pool.

Choose your picks, scoring, and deadlines. Confidence points are an option you can add, rather than a requirement of playoff pick’em.

Games and picks

Included rounds
Use all 11 playoff games or begin at the quarterfinals or semifinals. Do not count games played before the pool starts.
Actual matchups
Open picks when the advancing teams are known. Members pick each new matchup rather than carrying forward a predicted bracket.
Straight-up or spread picks
Pick the outright winner, or use the point spread to decide whether a selection is correct.
Spread source and timing
Choose the line source and when lines become fixed for the pool. Use the same line for every entry on a given game.
Pushes
For a spread result exactly on the line, award zero or partial credit under the pool’s chosen scoring rule.
Entries per person
Allow one entry each or set a limit for your group.

Points and confidence

Equal points
Give each correct pick the same value. Wrong picks earn zero.
Round weights
Set different point values for the first round, quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship.
Confidence by round
Reset unique values each round: 1–4 for the first round, 1–4 for the quarterfinals, 1–2 for the semifinals, and 1 for the final.
One confidence bank
Assign each value from 1 through 11 once across the full playoff. Use some values each round and reserve the rest; a losing pick still uses its value.
Custom values
Use your group’s value set or combine confidence with round multipliers. Apply the same available values to every entry.
Confidence on a push
Choose zero or partial credit for an ATS push. Its confidence value stays used, whether or not it scores points.
Missed confidence picks
Give a missed pick zero points and specify which unused value it consumes so skipping does not preserve extra values.

Deadlines and results

Pick deadlines
Lock each round before its first game or lock individual games at kickoff. Members can edit unlocked picks.
Confidence deadlines
Lock a pick’s value with the pick. Values attached to games already locked cannot be moved to later games.
Missed picks
Count a missing pick as a loss, or configure an automatic pick rule that applies equally to every entry.
Postponed or canceled games
Move the deadline with a postponed kickoff. For a canceled game, choose whether confidence values are returned or retired and apply that treatment to every entry.
Standings
Use cumulative points across the playoff. Add separate round results if your group wants them.

Ties and the finish

Championship total
Use a combined championship-score prediction to break standings ties. Choose whether it locks at pool entry or before the championship game; compare with the final total including overtime.
Most correct picks
Use as an additional tiebreaker with round weights or confidence scoring. In one-point pick’em, tied points already mean the same number of correct picks.
Tiebreaker order
Set the sequence of criteria and how to handle a tie that remains after all of them.

Visibility and commissioner controls

Seeing other picks
Reveal selections after the applicable deadline.
Commissioner picks
Enter and fix picks for a member, or turn that off
Commissioner visibility
Always off. Nobody sees a pick before it locks, you included
Rules text
A rules page generated from your settings, plus a note in your own words
Audit markers
Commissioner picks are flagged “C”.
Entry management
Keep track of who has joined, how many entries they have, and who still owes their dues.

Before your group starts picking.

How the playoff schedule affects game picks and confidence points.

Is this a bracket pool?

No. Members pick the actual games each round after the matchups are set. In a bracket pool, they predict all rounds before the first game, including matchups that might never happen. Compare CFP Bracket.

Can we use confidence points?

Yes. Choose confidence scoring when setting up your pool. Values can reset each round or come from one bank for all 11 games. A correct pick earns its assigned value; an incorrect pick earns zero.

How much is the championship worth with confidence scoring?

With a reset each round, the final has one pick worth 1 point unless you add a custom value or multiplier. With a once-only 1–11 bank, its value is whatever that entry saved. Members do not have to save 11.

Is confidence scoring the same as ranking the 12 teams?

No. Game confidence assigns points to individual picks. Team ranking assigns a value to each team once, then earns that value every time the team wins. Explore CFP Team Ranking.

Can our pool include non-playoff bowl games?

Yes. Use a bowl pool with CFP games included. Count a playoff game hosted by a bowl once, not once as a bowl and again as a playoff game. Compare bowl pool formats.

What does hosting cost?

$1 for each entry you keep in the new pool, with nothing upfront and no minimum. The new pool is billed separately.
